Could encountering issues, but it depends on how you handle the setup. Your current desktop setup might not work directly with the new SSD and laptop configuration.

You might encounter some driver problems, but generally it should work fine.

Yes, during setup Windows detects hardware and installs drivers. Once you move the drive over the hardware will be different and the drivers incorrect. It will probably work but there's a chance it will just BSOD and refuse to boot too.

Windows will likely handle most driver installations automatically. You might only need to download network drivers for your laptop just in case it isn’t detected. As long as you have an internet connection, Windows should manage the remaining ones for you.

Also, keep windows closed until you're inside your laptop. It can be tricky with hardware adjustments.

It seems uncertain whether it will succeed, and there could be some issues if it does. I’ll try using the Windows 10 installation media tool and install it on the laptop. The drive is now on a friend’s machine with an Intel CPU and AMD graphics, which works fine there, but I’m worried about problems with a laptop setup.

The ideal approach would be to create a Windows USB drive and install everything on your Dell device.

It depends on whether you're checking for a 3.5-inch or a 2.5-inch drive.
