The game can be reinstalled on the SSD. Mods may not be compatible. You could encounter issues otherwise.

You're assuming the Steam installation is on another drive, right? So you'll transfer the game files from one folder to another, then remove the game in Steam. Once done, reinstall it and set the new location—Steam will recognize it as installed. Easy!
