Transfer your files and applications from the old boot drive to the new computer.
I recently purchased a new computer and used a 1tb SSD as the boot drive from my previous machine. I saved it for additional storage. I don’t want to reinstall all games and applications. The only idea that comes to mind is extracting everything from the "program files" folders and reformatting it, but I’m unsure if all the necessary files are there or if the "Program Data x86" folder contains what I need. My goal is to retain most of the system except the old Windows installation, which came pre-installed with Windows 11. Is there a better way to handle this? Edited May 8, 2022 by LeggyBoi2
Acronis True Image is a software for creating full backups and restoring data.
I’m unsure, I just want to remove my previous Windows installation from the old disk to free space, but I can’t format it completely since I can’t reinstall everything there and I don’t know where all the files are. Unless Acronis offers a way to delete only Windows OS files.
At that moment you might simply copy all folders except those on Windows, it could help. However, it will take some time; I suggest using WinRAR to compress them and relocate them to another drive, then decompress there for quicker transfer.
