Transfer Windows installation from hard drive to a new system
I purchased an HP computer around a year and a half ago and have decided to upgrade to a new one. I’m trying to figure out how to connect the hard drive from my old Windows 8.1 system to the new PC. I found online advice suggesting it’s not possible, but others mentioned contacting Microsoft for assistance. I’m unsure what to do and would really appreciate any help you can provide.
You shouldn't rely on HP's drivers or related software. It's better to perform a fresh installation of Windows 8.1 on your new device. As a student, you can purchase Windows 8.1 Pro for $70 directly from Microsoft here: http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msus....288769600
