Upgrading your motherboard and CPU shouldn't affect your Windows Key installation. You typically don't need to reinstall Windows unless you're replacing the operating system entirely. Just ensure your new hardware is compatible with your current setup.

You'll need to reinstall the operating system if you don't want to remove all the drivers and related files.

The problem lies with the drivers. You might manage it if you invest time, but it's simpler to reinstall.

There might be issues if you modify the setup without reinstalling, but it’s convenient because you simply place the Windows DVD and click reinstall. You won’t lose data or drivers—just a bit of extra time.
