I recently purchased an SSD for my laptop. It came with the original Windows 10 version from the manufacturer. I’m having trouble moving Windows from my old HDD to the new SSD. Could you assist me with this process?

I just put the SSD into my laptop, used a bootable USB I created, logged in via my Microsoft account, and activated the system. Many people claim you must clone the hard drive, but that wasn’t necessary for me.

Your Windows is the original manufacturer edition, and you don’t have an OEM installation disc.

Windows doesn't support downloading it with an OEM key. I've already attempted it.

There are several methods to obtain a clean ISO. If you prefer using your laptop's drivers and additional components, you should purchase recovery media from the manufacturer. You can also get a pure ISO from Microsoft by either tricking your browser to appear as a non-Windows system or by using a mirror site (which may lack the most recent updates). In both cases, the key is saved on the motherboard and will start working when you first boot to the desktop.

Cloning appears to be a straightforward choice since the key is located on the motherboard. Proceed accordingly?

This option works only if your existing drive size matches or is smaller than the new one. If not, you must move only the necessary files. Both processes need both drives connected simultaneously. It’s simpler to keep everything in ISO format (spoofing via browser can be handled with an addon).

Thank you for the assistance. I used the Samsung Migration Software to create a clone of my disk, and everything functions properly because the license was linked to the motherboard.
