I've been looking for information online for a while now, but I'm still struggling to find a clear solution. Can you tell me if it's actually doable? I'd like to retain my other files on the HDD and transfer just the operating system to the SSD that will be installed in my laptop soon. I'm using an Acer Aspire V5-571. Thanks!

You could save your HDD data and then transfer it to an SSD.

With limited resources, you might not be able to buy an external drive. Perhaps someone you know could lend you one if possible.
