Transfer operating system from SSHD to SSD
Choose a migration solution and trust it handles storage size variations. Set up Windows on the SSD, transfer your files, then clean up the SSD by formatting it once finished. For Samsung SSDs, their built-in tool simplifies the process and adjusts for capacity changes.
Yes, you can use the free version. No changes to boot settings are needed. You can format the disk after a successful migration.
Your SSHD probably holds around 1TB, split into a partition near that size. A basic cloning utility won’t try the job since a 256GB drive can’t fit a 1TB one. Those more advanced tools will simply say it’s not feasible because the available space exceeds what the destination can hold.
Are you referring to the Samsung Magician software? - I expect updates on moving SSDs to M.2 slots sometime this year, possibly with larger M.2 sizes than the SSD itself... All involving Samsung storage solutions. Planning to acquire enterprise-level M.2 drives from them as well.
