I upgraded my system a while back and had to stick with a 250GB drive. Now I’m facing storage problems. Can I replace the old drive and transfer all data without keeping it?

I have several options available for this task. I recently used Clonezilla a few days ago to clone from an SATA SSD to an NVMe SSD, which was my first time doing this. I anticipated some issues, but everything functioned smoothly. Transfer the data to a USB drive, power it on, and adhere to the provided steps. In my situation, both drives were connected to the PC; after finishing, I removed the old one. You should never start with the old drive installed, as it may cause Windows to recognize it incorrectly. If you plan to use the old drive for extra storage, it’s advisable to connect it via USB once completed, then erase it completely before reinstalling it, so Windows doesn’t get confused about the previous operating system drive.
