I faced the same issue a few days back: I created a Windows clone on an SSD using the free tool https://www.macrium.com/reflectfree. It was very straightforward. Keep these points in mind: - The SSD will have a partition with the size you cloned from, while the rest remains unallocated. You can merge the unallocated space into your existing partition or make a new one via Windows 10 disk management. - Is your old HDD using MBR? The program will indicate this. Because having two MBRs during startup led to an endless boot loop in my case. Remove the old drive before restarting, then wait a few seconds after powering on so Windows can recognize the HDD but won’t boot from it.
It seems to be worth a shot, but it didn’t work on my board since I only got one chance into BIOS and any changes made had no effect. The MBR is an older system, so your PC might not even support it. Don’t stress too much—it’s just informational if you’re curious why the boot isn’t happening.
My PC is also quite old. Another suggestion: Windows 10 disk management can remove Windows partitions without issues, but it won’t delete a recovery partition if you have one. You can still get rid of it in other ways easily: https://www.disk-partition.com/articles/...-4348.html
