You're trying to share a network folder with a friend using Windows Share or Internet Sharing. It's understandable you're cautious about security, especially if your ISP might be blocking certain ports. The ports you've opened (TCP/445, TCP/139, UDP/137, UDP/138) are commonly used for file sharing and remote access, but if your ISP is restricting them, it could prevent you from accessing the folder. Make sure to check your internet settings or contact your ISP to confirm why those ports are blocked.

A huge vulnerability has been exposed in your network. Immediately secure those ports. Your ISP may block them—accept this. For sharing files, consider Dropbox instead of risky methods.

ISPs will restrict ports linked to security concerns. Avoid sharing information online in this manner. A better approach is to create a VPN between you and your friend, which would secure the data transfer.

I decline this option since it allows unrestricted access. Consider setting up a private Google Drive, Dropbox, or OneDrive and sharing through those platforms instead.
