transfer files on windows using just one drive
You can use a USB drive to carry the Windows installation media. Since the SSD is already formatted on your old PC, you should be able to transfer the setup files via USB without needing multiple ports. Just connect the USB and follow the instructions to install the new drive.
You might consider purchasing a separate housing for the drive and connecting it through USB. Yet, opting for a complete reinstall or switching to Linux could be more practical if the system is intended as a server.
I’d consider a new setup since I’ve saved my data, but I’m not sure how to back it up without my Windows key.
