Transfer data via USB cable.
Looking forward to getting a new Wi-Fi card for my build. I'm working from home, but my desktop is far from the modem. I don't want to spend a lot on long Ethernet cables since I expect a quick fix in about five days. I wondered if I could turn on my phone's Wi-Fi and enable USB tethering so it uses my home network instead of relying on my provider's service. Samsung live chat said it's not possible, which is surprising. Thanks for your help!
I’ve tried this before and it’s actually straightforward. Grab a USB cable and connect your phone to your computer, making sure it’s linked to your home Wi-Fi. Once done, you’ll see a notification that says something like “Using USB to charge this device – tap for more options.” Tap it. A menu will appear; choose “USB tethering.” After a short wait, Windows (or Linux) will detect the connection and let you use the internet normally—just keep your phone plugged in and on Wi-Fi. Let me know if that works!
