Try relocating your C: Drive to a different machine and boot there. If that doesn't work, check for driver updates or compatibility issues.

The process requires time. It lasted an hour after upgrading to an X4-9550, then another hour when switching to an i7-920, and only ten minutes once returning to the 4790K.
