You just got a new PC with a SATA M.2 and two 1TB HDDs. The motherboard only has one M.2 slot, but you have a 1TB NVMe M.2 drive you want to install. Your operating system and many programs are stored on the SATA drive, so you're worried about losing data if you move everything. MiniTool suggested migrating the OS, which you don’t want either. What should you do?

Are you trying to relocate the operating system to a new drive? You’ll likely need to create a clone. Tools like Macrium Reflect Free can handle this. For best results, consider installing Windows directly on the new drive and then manually transferring what’s necessary.

Use a computer equipped with the appropriate drive connections to complete the transfer.

Yes, the operating system and data from the previous drive. You're aiming to create a perfect duplicate of the old drive onto the new one, but you don't have a method to install it without taking out the old one.

You employ a different machine for the cloning process or purchase a USB to M.2 NVMe adapter.
