Hi everyone - I've noticed an alert saying "Alert! TPM not detected" when I power on my computer. I've tried several fixes: updating BIOS, changing settings, checking Device Manager, and even reverting to older BIOS versions. Still nothing works. Now I'm unsure if the TPM chip is really needed or how important it is for upgrading to Windows 11. The TPM chip seems to be the main reason preventing me from installing Windows 11. For a Dell Vostro 5568, I'd appreciate any advice on removing this alert and understanding the role of the TPM chip. Thanks for your help!
The TPM chip isn't required for Windows 11 to operate, though it supports the enhanced security features that make upgrades official. Many users don’t have one on their motherboard—it’s not a typical part. Some modern processors include built-in software TPM, which Windows 11 utilizes. You can still install Windows 11 even without a compatible CPU or TPM, though you won’t be able to perform OTA updates via the settings and will need to use USB connections instead.
