Hello! I own an Acer Nitro 5 (AN515-57) running Windows 11 Enterprise. It has 32GB RAM, a 3050Ti processor, and 512GB NVMe storage. Recently, the touch pad has been acting odd—initially responding quickly after boot but then showing delays or instability for a moment before returning to normal, followed by strange behavior afterward. I tried using SFC Scannow and DISM, but the issue persists even when in Safemode.

Verify if your laptop needs any BIOS updates. Then check whether your operating system requires an update. Just a question, why is Windows 11 Enterprise installed on your gaming laptop? Have you attempted to remove the touchpad drivers and reinstall the newest version from Acer's support page?

I received the newest BIOS update. I'm still receiving this extra product key at work. xD
I attempted to uninstall the Elantech driver and reinstall, but it didn't work. I'll try a clean install next time.

Are all your system drivers current, except for the touchpad? This seems like a driver problem or a conflict between hardware. How does it behave with a standard mouse?

Hi, thank you for your message. I attempted to start Ubuntu using a USB drive, but it remains slow. Could this be related to a hardware issue?

I believe the issue may be connected to my power adapter, as seen in other reports. I attempted to remove the AC adapter and use just the battery, and it worked fine.
