Top Visual Experiences (Realistic Graphics)
Top Visual Experiences (Realistic Graphics)
Some lesser-known titles like Mirrors Edge came out in 2008, and the combination of lights and shadows remains impressive even today.
Many titles built on Frostbite 3 shine visually and perform smoothly without needing heavy optimization. I recently revisited Need For Speed, noticing how it seamlessly merges graphics with realism in various scenarios. Star Wars Battlefront also impresses with its detailed environments, especially on Endor. Although I haven’t played BF1 myself, watching the footage gives it a strong sense of authenticity. It seems the CoD team has successfully moved past the uncanny valley since Advanced Warfare. At least during my testing sessions.
Mirror's Edge Catalyst, The Witcher 3, GTA V, Deus Ex Mankind Divided showcase impressive visuals. Mostly, Ubishit delivers solid graphics. I believe the next game with top-tier visuals will be the upcoming Final Fantasy XV PC release in 2018.
But it feels a bit meaningless if you let me say... I attempted to play BF1 Single Player campaign, and honestly it really bothered me more than it entertained. I’m familiar with the BF series, especially after it moved into the Medal of Honor lineup—those titles always focused on multiplayer, with single-player just as an afterthought. But BF1 was even worse in that regard. My first time I started with the missions, and they were about the armor suit; you just kept shooting until it was over, which was even more frustrating than Call of Duty’s linear experience since there wasn’t a single line of dialogue. Then I tried the Australian campaign—starting on a nice-looking warship, the graphics were top-notch. So I figured, let me check it out. It moved a bit and then the mission failed because you left the battle, like... what the hell? I just closed it with alt+f4 and uninstalled it, never wanting to play again. The lesson here is clear: beautiful visuals don’t matter if the game itself is broken. It’s sad because I know these games are meant for multiplayer, yet people still buy them like CoD, BF, Titanfall for their own reasons. Disappointing in the end.
