It seems VRAM requirements are now more common than they used to be. It's interesting how things have changed. Back in 2010 with the GTX 285M, 1GB felt substantial, but now a 1080 Ti offers 11GB—about eleven times the amount.

What RAM is required for gaming? As games progress, VRAM becomes important, so it makes sense they'd need more of both.

In typical memory addressing, you increased the size by doubling it each time—2GB, then 4GB, then 8GB, and so on.

You might disable Afterburner while running NieR Automata to avoid random crashes every few hours. This issue is recognized with FAR, and playing on PC without it can cause visual problems due to resolution glitches. I’d still choose the PC version over PS4 for a more consistent frame rate.
