Seeking to enhance my old sandy 2600 to a 3770k setup. Wanting to overclock to 4.5 ghz while staying under 80c. My existing hyper tx3 cooler isn’t providing enough heat. I have a mid case and limited space, so big air coolers aren’t feasible. The 212 evo wouldn’t fit, ruling out large air options. I’m considering a decent 120mm water cooler that balances performance and size. The Deepcool 120 ex seems like a solid choice. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Honestly, I’m not a big supporter of liquid coolers because of the risks involved and since the cheaper models perform similarly to better air coolers for the same cost. However, I’ve heard positive feedback about the Corsair H100i (water) and the NZXT X61 (water). For slim air coolers from this site, I’m considering options.

The Deepcool stands out as a strong option, possibly the top choice here. If you prefer staying in air, the Raijintek Pallas is a good alternative—it has a sleek design and works well. (In my opinion, it's not worth it to go into water if your only concern is 120mm, since the temperature difference isn't significant.)

Thanks for the feedback. After checking more reviews, I noticed several build quality problems with those liquid coolers, like break issues and leaks. It might not be the best choice for me. If you're looking for alternatives, let me know!

Thank you once more. I bought the Corsair H80i V2 cooler, which seems to work well. It outperformed the 212 and was about the same as the H100i according to the tests I reviewed.

Kronima:
Thanks again. I bought the Corsair H80i v2 cooler, which should work well. It did better than the 212 and almost matched the h100i in benchmarks.
Hi, I remember this was a while ago—how was your cooler doing? Did you reach 4.5GHz? I have the same processor and am considering an overclock toward that speed!
Cheers,
