Here are some solid titles with strong solo adventures: Vanishing of Eathan Carter is a solid pick, and Bioshock Infinite offers an engaging single-player experience.

Other fantasy titles include the Witcher saga and Elder Scrolls games. There are many more out there, but these are the ones that stood out to me the most.

Consider exploring the other Bioshocks titles before diving into Bioshock Infinite; its conclusion will clarify things a bit. It's not mandatory, but the series is really crafted well and the games tie together in interesting ways... Also, Hitman:Absolution was a hit—I liked Deus Ex: Human Revolution but I’m not sure about the rest.

I spent a lot of time on Witcher 3, Dark Souls, and Spec Ops: The Line. Also, I think Modern Warfare II is a top modern military shooter in terms of storytelling.
