If you hadn’t mentioned your dislike for the 712 Pro, it would be my top choice. I’m curious about how much of the decision came from the soundcard or settings. Another well-liked pick among gamers is the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO

For most people, the M50 sounds worse than the AKGs you didn't like; the 40 model performs better.
