I'm searching for a mid-range CPU cooler to support overclocking the 1400 to 4.0 Ghz. I've checked the Cooler Master Hyper 212X and the Cooler Master MasterAir Pro 4, but I'm unsure which is better. I also want to know if other brands might be more suitable, especially since I'm not familiar with many Cryorig, be Quiet!, or Noctua options. Thanks!

Due to the reduced power consumption of the Ryzen CPUs, the best choice remains a H7 for the Ryzen 5, especially with heavy overclocking. An M9a offers good value at $19 and matches the performance of a 212 Evo.

It seems a bit pricey. A more affordable option might be available for under $40.

Chugalug_ would prefer a H7 for Ryzen 5 due to its lower voltage consumption. An M9i offers good value at $19 and matches the performance of a 212 Evo. It is an Intel cooler, so you should opt for the AMD variant. The PCPartPicker list includes the CPU cooler details with pricing and shipping information.
