A 3600 cl16 or a 3200 cl16/14 unit should suffice. 3600 is ideal for Zen 2. Something like this: PCPartPicker Part List Type Item Price Memory G.Skill Ripjaws V 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory $74.99 @ Newegg Prices cover shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts. Total $74.99 created by PCPartPicker on 2020-08-21 07:13 EDT. 4000 should handle the task. Updated August 21, 2020 by TofuHaroto

I usually begin with 16GB of RAM and add more only when necessary. If you find yourself requiring more, simply purchase two additional modules. RAM is the simplest upgrade, unless you run out of space.

I use the 2x8GB Crucial Ballistix 3600MHz cl16 with my 3700X. I adjusted the settings to cl14 and it works perfectly. No issues have arisen with this setup.

Ryzen memory options include Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz 16GB package. Another choice is Patriot Memory VIPER 4 3200MHz 16GB kit. High-end RAM available from G.SKILL Trident Z Royal Gold 3200MHz 16GB. For larger storage, Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB bundle is also an option.

They have a couple of classes available, and the prices vary accordingly.

I would choose the 3600MHz cl18 kit instead of the 3200 cl16 kit at the same cost.

They handle things in a similar way, but achieving more precise timing for the 3600 model could make it superior.
