I need a different motherboard or perhaps a CPU for my Unraid server. My current one has strict requirements: AM4 chipset (needs Ryzen 1700), under 8x15 inches, likely mini-ITX/mini-DX. It should handle headless booting, allow underclocking and undervolting, support 32GB DDR4 RAM. Wishlist includes many SATA ports for extra storage, several PCIe slots without exceeding size, affordable options. I’m open to smart solutions using daughterboards and expansion cards. Skip RGB, Wi-Fi, or unnecessary features. What I have now: MSI B450I Gaming (to be replaced), 32GB Trident Z RGB Ryzen 1700 CPU (no integrated graphics), GTX 1080 (moved to main PC for virtualization). Background info: I already own a Threadripper workstation, a huge ultra-wide monitor, endless custom RGB projects, and all my own built desks. This new Unraid server is meant for media streaming, smart-home control, and web dev hosting. Once it’s stable, I’ll move to virtualization on my main PC for Halo LAN parties (three gamers, one CPU). After that, I’ll add liquid cooling and a video montage to showcase the build.

I checked the documentation and features to confirm compatibility with headless boot.

It's a common aspect of ASROCK, discussions on its forums highlight this, while Reddit users report no issues with the headless option. According to the manual, the Fatal1ty CSM mode lets you start without any external devices.

I believe I’ll purchase this. A quick check on Amazon shows the listing mentions two PCI-Express slots, but only one is available. Can you clarify what they’re referring to? The description lists two x16 slots, one operating at 8x speed.
