Aren't the USB versions really problematic? My device cost $12 and it doesn’t function at all.
They have an SMA connector already installed. I’d consider getting an Intel adapter and connecting them instead.
It overheats and causes your connection to fail, right? I notice a lot of posts about bad USB networking adapters here. It usually starts fine then suddenly drops the connection. PCIe cards and M.2 adapters tend to work without problems.
