I need a WiFi card that works well and comes with a solid warranty. With a budget around $100, I should focus on reliability. The current speed is 250 Mb/s, so I want something that matches or exceeds that for smooth performance.

You're looking for a device with strong external antennas and dual-band capability. Your ASUS PCE-AC68 behaves identically to your wired setup.

Maybe it’s not compatible with the system.

Aren't the USB versions really problematic? My device cost $12 and it doesn’t function at all.

USB devices often overheat and stop working. Their antenna options are poor, and they tend to be inconsistent.

They have an SMA connector already installed. I’d consider getting an Intel adapter and connecting them instead.

It overheats and causes your connection to fail, right? I notice a lot of posts about bad USB networking adapters here. It usually starts fine then suddenly drops the connection. PCIe cards and M.2 adapters tend to work without problems.
