The surrounding fanworks community adds another layer to its appeal.

Portal 2 stands out as one of the finest titles I've ever played—truly brilliant in every way. I believe it's Valve's strongest game, which is impressive.
It reminded me of SimCity. Maybe Wolfenstein was better for FPS titles, though that style isn’t something I usually played. Mario and Pong weren’t really PC games, and Tetris wasn’t around until the Game Boy came out. Its rise in popularity was largely thanks to Nintendo.
