I intend to switch to the latest Intel chips in May or June. I’m looking into the best or varied OC CPU tests for stability. Currently, I use OCCT and Realbench. Are they sufficient for testing, or should I consider additional tools as well?

Prime95 has been my trusted tool for a long time. I consider it the quickest method for detecting unstable systems.

I test Cinebench R15 first. If it succeeds, I proceed to R20. Should R20 fail, I keep testing until an issue appears. When that happens, I’ll try Prime95 and usually just adjust the overclock slightly lower.

Prime95 was known for being very demanding on the CPU, sometimes causing instability. Whether it’s fixed now isn’t clear—your experience with R15 suggests you’ve seen similar issues. IntelBurnedTest is another reputable tool, and based on past reviews, it can be a solid option.

When Prime95 doesn't run smoothly on your CPU, the issue lies with your hardware, not the software, according to my observations. This is why stress tests are useful.

Back then, certain toms devices reported issues that caused even the most reliable failures. I’m taking that at face value. I’ll just test everything with the latest chips. Laughs.

Check out this helpful piece. I plan to try my current to gauge performance with AVX for fun, so I can understand the heat during rendering after a while.
