PBO – Turn it on and hope for the best. It's famously unreliable, sometimes it functions, other times it fails. Think of it as a second attempt in the silicon drawing. Manual OC – No. Doing so will significantly damage your single-core performance more than it improves multi-core results.
PBO functions mainly as a simple switch. Activate it in BIOS (more consistent results) or via Ryzen Master and you're set. On my 5600X it boosts all-core speeds to around 4.65GHz versus about 4.1-4.2GHz stock-wise. Single core remains at 4.65GHz. It acts similarly to a multicore enhancement on Intel chips, aligning multicore rates near single-core rates. AutoOC can push single cores even higher than default, though results aren't assured. I wouldn't rely on manual overclocking since it won't reliably hit 4.9GHz all-core. For AMD users, stick to stock settings or enable PBO/AutoOC and let the processor handle performance.

I checked the project log. You were talking about running at 39°C and 89-90°C while under load—I thought the Zen3 throttles would stall at 90°C. Did you get the temperatures wrong? My readings are close to room temperature. I’m concerned about performance when fully loaded.
