Top NA group TF2 dissolves, team Freyotech breaks up
The froyotech dynasty faded in early Tuesday when they fell to Team SoloUber in a closely fought lower bracket match, ending their streak of qualifying for every grand final. According to clockwork, the star scout shared his perspective: he found his time with froyotech very rewarding. The team stood out as unique, and his efforts helped build a lasting legacy. Although we didn’t secure a dominant victory, he felt proud as a TF2 player. Since Overwatch gained popularity, many former TF2 fans have shifted focus away from the game. This loss impacted our unity, so he plans to prioritize Overwatch and possibly join another invite team. Grant "b4nny" Vincent, a key TF2 player, commented on the situation: throughout the season, it was evident he was the only one truly invested in both the game and our progress. Ultimately, froyotech as it existed is gone. It was undoubtedly the best team he’s ever played with, though not the final one.
Clockwork was a beast as scout It's a shame he got so fed up with the way Valve runs things... Otherwise he'd probably still play both TF2 and Overwatch. Other than that, this is a great time to see how fights for the title of NA champion. Things won't be as predictable as before Who knows who will be the world champion at i58 next year!
It's a real disappointment to witness such a remarkable group disappear. I was competitive in TF2 from 2011 to 2013, and had the chance to play alongside and against many of these individuals within the old IRC PUG system. They were genuinely unique compared to any other players. Even the leading competitors would be easily overwhelmed by froyotech/Quantic or whatever they were known for after Quantic when Tyrone was involved. I hope they continue to excel in Overwatch.
