2 sticks perform better than 4 in every situation. Of course, DDR4 isn’t as strict with 4 sticks compared to DDR5, so the gap likely won’t be huge. Keep in mind: 4 sticks still offer dual-channel performance. No one really uses quad-channel setups.

Standard advice is to use one DIMM per memory controller. This follows a 'less is more' strategy to avoid possible issues. Having two memory controllers side by side may make it harder to keep stability than using just one.

2x Single Rank sticks offer the simplest setup and often deliver the best results—2x Dual Rank sticks provide strong performance close to single rank, sometimes even outperforming them at slightly lower speeds while matching similar timings. In technical terms, 4x Single Rank is equivalent to 2x Dual Rank but comes with higher cost. Fourx Dual Rank at identical clocks and settings matches the best performance, though achieving it is challenging and depends on luck with your IMC (Integrated Memory Controller). If you're unfamiliar with memory overclocking or tuning, steer clear as default BIOS settings may severely limit gains and could prevent the system from running at all.

Your machine handles 4 sticks at 3200 all-day. Two kits are available. If it fails, I’ll purchase all four sticks so you can get two 16GB units. I run 4 sticks of 4GB on a 5600 and 5600x3D.

Absolutely not to that. For top performance, you’ll need Samsung B-Die. A model in the C14 lineup works best. They’ve discontinued those, so you may want to look elsewhere. Bdiefinder could still be available.

I've been using four Ryzen processors for about five years. 5600X, 5900X, 5800X3D. Everything is working fine. Each kit has two units at 3200C14.
