After buying a 144Hz monitor, I discovered my processor struggles with its high refresh rate. I’m considering a replacement and would like some recommendations.
Living in Israel means local prices are higher than in the US or EU.

I want top performance without overspending. The processors that fit my budget are:
i9 9900k
i7 9700k
i7 8700k
For overclocking, I’m also interested in the best motherboards to pair with these. That’s what makes me hesitate.
On a minor point, NewEgg ships to Israel but adds significant taxes and shipping costs—still cheaper than others, though the only downside is the international warranty.

I’m not sure if you saw the AMD CES 2019 coverage, but they demonstrated an 8-core chip surpassing a 9900k in both performance and power efficiency according to Cinebench. At first it might seem modest, but AMD has created a chip that is much more efficient than the 9900k, even better than their top-tier models. Despite this, overclocked X58 Xeons with three-channel memory can still function effectively for up to ten years.
