Centos is based on RHEL, while Fedora is more recent and serves as a beta version for Red Hat.

Ubuntu or Linux Mint are clearly the easiest options. Avoid Kali—it's not suitable for a desktop, particularly for beginners.

Debian might be considered less user-friendly out of the box compared to other distributions. It lacks features such as a PPA system, which allows adding third-party packages like Ubuntu-based ones. As a result, installing non-free software can be more challenging. The same applies to Fedora and CentOS, which are RPM-based distributions.

I experienced the easiest issues when setting up Mint, especially with its operation and features.

Kali isn't designed for desktop use primarily because it's built for penetration testing environments. Its advanced tools and capabilities are better suited for network and system security assessments rather than everyday desktop applications.

Gentoo works well for experienced users since you need to rebuild each package yourself.

It's designed specifically for penetration testing purposes. All operations execute with root privileges, which poses risks if you're not fully prepared. Avoid attempting this unless you have extensive expertise. The setup process is highly complex.
