I've got a Dell XPS 18. I'm considering Linux but have had issues with Lubuntu and Ubuntu in the past regarding touch support. It functions, but it feels like a mouse emulation without true multitouch. Would anyone suggest another distro that might work better? I'm not very tech-savvy, so I'd prefer something simpler.

Gnome 3 offers solid touch functionality, making it suitable for Ubuntu 17.10 or later, or Fedora. It performs well on Fedora.

The Gnome desktop, now the standard for newer Ubuntu releases, is praised for its touch functionality. However, its performance can vary. It's suggested to test it by creating live USBs of various distributions and trying them out.
