Hello everyone!

I’m planning a PC upgrade soon, and I'm weighing the options of upgrading my graphics card or central processing unit. My primary objective is to achieve higher frame rates, particularly since I own a 144Hz monitor; however, my existing configuration currently produces an average of approximately 90-110 FPS at maximum settings. If I’m limited to a single upgrade at this time, which component should I prioritize? Ideally, I'd like to reach frame rates between 150 and 200.

My current specifications are as follows:
CPU: i5-3470
GPU: GTX 960 2GB
Power Supply: 600W
RAM: 8GB
Motherboard: H61M-E

To achieve your desired outcome, you’ll require improvements to both the processor and graphics card. Initially, however, I advise prioritizing the graphics card upgrade. To gain insight into potential limitations within your system, I suggest observing CPU and GPU utilization during gameplay. If either component reaches its maximum capacity, this signifies a constraint.

To achieve your desired outcome, it’s necessary to improve both the processor and graphics card. Initially, I advise focusing on the graphics card upgrade. To understand potential limitations within your system, I suggest observing CPU/GPU activity during gameplay. If either component reaches its maximum capacity, this suggests a performance restriction.
