Hello, Your gaming stats have dropped significantly, especially in Apex Legends. The experience has become nearly unplayable because of FPS stutters during intense fights and fast movements. I've tried all possible fixes on my own, but the situation remains unchanged. I'm currently running at 240 fps, and during close-quarters gunfights my FPS often drops below 200, causing noticeable lag. Here are my system details: Windows 10 64bit, Intel Core i9 9900K @ 3.60GHz, 32GB Dual-Channel DDR4 @ 1499MH, ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC., ROG MAXIMUS XI HERO (WI-FI) with LGA1151, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti (MSI), 931GB Samsung SSD 970 EVO Plus (2560x1440@240Hz), and EVGA Supernova 1600 PSU. BIOS version is 1105. No crashes or total freezes reported—just consistent FPS drops and general performance problems. Most issues occur in Apex, though some games also show FPS problems. I haven't noticed any overheating on either component, and 3Dmark scores are normal. These problems have been ongoing for a while, not just from the latest update in Apex. My OS is up to date today. Thank you for your assistance. Please let me know if anything is missing.

@unkindledfps Consider testing ThrottleStop. https://www.techpowerup.com/download/tec...ottlestop/ In the Options window, select the Nvidia GPU box to enable monitoring. On the main display, verify the Log File option and play a game for 15 minutes. After testing, close ThrottleStop and save a log file for your next post. There was an issue where certain games altered Intel turbo power settings, potentially affecting performance. It’s unclear if the problem lies with the game or another background software boosting tool. A log file should help confirm consistent CPU and GPU behavior. The TPL window will display both power limits. Exit HWiNFO or similar monitoring apps during data collection. Share some ThrottleStop screenshots so I can review your settings.

Verify that no vertical sync or additional stabilization is enabled. These features usually avoid artifacts by restricting frame rate.

You can locate the log file in the application's configuration directory or within the source code under relevant subdirectories.

The default storage area is the ThrottleStop / Logs directory. This file records all throttling reasons. If the issue relates to power limits, it will appear as PL1 or PL2 in the log. It's a simple text file you can open with Notepad for inspection before using it.

The processor maintains a steady speed of 4700 MHz while the Nvidia graphics card operates reliably between 1950 MHz and 1995 MHz. Temperatures remain acceptable. There appear to be no immediate issues, indicating another factor might be responsible for the performance drop.

You can try exiting Discord and see if that makes any difference. This can load the CPU more than most people realize. If Core Isolation Memory Integrity is enabled you can try disabling that Windows feature. Here is an example of a clean Windows install. The C0% is significantly lower when there is not a lot of stuff running in the background. DATE TIME MULTI C0% CKMOD BAT_mW TEMP VID POWER 2023-02-17 17:08:52 49.99 0.1 100.0 0 29 1.3424 1.8 2023-02-17 17:08:53 50.00 0.1 100.0 0 29 1.3389 1.7 2023-02-17 17:08:54 50.00 0.1 100.0 0 28 1.3423 1.5 2023-02-17 17:08:55 50.00 0.1 100.0 0 29 1.3420 1.5 2023-02-17 17:08:56 50.00 0.1 100.0 0 29 1.3420 1.4 2023-02-17 17:08:57 50.00 0.1 100.0 0 29 1.3417 1.5 2023-02-17 17:08:58 50.00 0.1 100.0 0 29 1.3466 1.6 2023-02-17 17:08:59 50.00 0.1 100.0 0 29 1.3409 1.6 An average of 3% or 4% does not sound like much but when you multiply that number by 16 threads, that is equivalent to something running and fully loading a core of your CPU half of the time. Background sludge adds up quickly and can interfere with smooth game play.

Someone who wants to know might find that a fresh setup of the windows resolved all my problems. Probably a driver issue caused the trouble.
