Personal thoughts on these titles: Warframe – I played it heavily before the Steam release, bought a founder pack, and stopped when I married. Robocraft, Rocket League, and Fall Guys – enjoyed them during their peaks but grew bored with less engaging updates and personal stagnation. Invisible Inc remains my top stealth game and a great taste of Klei. Mad Games Tycoon and Mad Tower Tycoon are standout indie experiences; the latter is a faithful nod to Sim Tower, and they’ve expanded with a co-op and competitive mode. No Man's Sky offered solo planetary discovery initially, which met expectations at launch but didn’t sustain interest after two months. Tower Unite is still played occasionally despite frequent changes, and I appreciate their clear roadmap and community involvement.
Minecraft clearly tops my list of favorite games (thanks to tons of servers over the years). Star Trek Online reached 2111 plus extra time, but I’ve mostly stuck around for Winter Wonderland in the past five years. My main GW2 account shows 1900 hours, while my many alts add hundreds more—especially since I keep buying Skyscale. I’m not as active in GW2 lately (though I still jump in for The Shadow of the Mad King), but I’m catching up on time. I also have solid but under a thousand hours in other MMORPGs, 7DtD, and Satisfactory. Forza Horizons could be decent too. My full-time job cut my gaming time, then cats came along—now I manage to play a few hours each day without hitting 16 straight sessions.
The comments reveal a lot about the discussion. The mods made a big difference. It seems Genshin Impact might be on the top of your list if you keep track of your gaming time. (Note: This isn't a Steam title.)
It's disappointing that my favorite game feels like a lazy idle one, something I'd rather not spend much time on.
My playtime has decreased noticeably in recent years, with the majority spanning from 2014 to 2022.
