Hey everyone, I have a few questions about my recent upgrade. Right now I have an i7 3770k running at 4.7GHz, but it’s starting to struggle in some games. I’m thinking about switching to a Zen 3 and was considering the 5700X, but it’s not available here. Instead, I’ll go with the 5800X, which has seen a price increase in the UK and is now nearly as good as the 5900X. I’m not sure which one to pick since my current setup isn’t pushing the CPU to its limits. I’m not planning to use either chip at full capacity right now, as I don’t do much productivity work. My main goal is to add extra cores for future-proofing and a bit of a speed boost. I’d appreciate your advice on which CPU would be better for me.

Additionally, I need a new motherboard and don’t know much about the options. I’m torn between a B550 and an X570. I don’t think I’ll take advantage of the extra lanes on the X570, and I really like getting good overclock results. If you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

For gaming, I recommend the 5600x motherboard. The ASUS TUF B550 offers great value and is highly regarded.

If you don’t need extra power, avoid paying for it and use the savings elsewhere, like upgrading to an x570 motherboard. For my situation, I’d choose a Ryzen 5 3600 or 3700x and pair it with an x570 card. The main distinction between x570 and B550 is PCIe version 4. Also, I believe only x570 boards are compatible with SLI.

I don’t have any specific mobile device suggestions, but I’m aware of a few that support Gen 4 PCIe and M.2 technology.

Both models come with Gen 4 chips and both are compatible with S-Link. Either of these CPUs should perform well at the upgrade level Daniel mentioned.

Sorry, I believed they were discussing the B450. That was my mistake!
