You'll need to adjust the settings, 7900 is quite cautious but avoids overheating and excessive power usage similar to the 7900x. It includes a free cooler that acts like a 10-20$ discount. Which components from your existing setup would you like to keep?

Initially, I'll utilize all the necessary parts to get the system operational. I might replace the motherboard, RAM, CPU, and possibly the SSD. The timing isn't set yet, but I plan to install a new PSU and GPU eventually. Over time, these components will be moved into my second build. For the 7900X, I'm not aware of any problems, though I think it should be fine—just keep in mind what you suggested.

DDR5 is still in its early "growth phase," especially for the Ryzen 7000 lineup. A colleague and I recently went through it ourselves over the weekend. We were running a Linux-based FPGA build server or workstation, and at this point, compatibility with the motherboard's RAM list (QVL) matters more than aesthetics like RGB. If the kit fails to boot, it’s no use. We were using a Ryzen 7900X, Gigabyte Aorus X670 Elite AX, and various memory modules from G.Skill, Corsair, Kingston, updating BIOS, running MemTest86 tests, and visiting local Memory Express stores.
