The Gigabyte GA-990FX Gaming board performs well too. I successfully overclocked the 8370e chip to 5.1 on air.

Opt for something less than 990fx chipset board to ensure quality VRMs for a stable OC. The Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 works well, and Gigabyte's GA-990FXA-UD3 is also decent.

I own an Asrock 990FX Fatal1ty Killer yet I'm seeking a superior board, having my 8350 OC at 4.3GHZ.

I'll check that board too, plus the ASUS Crosshair V Formula or Asus Sabertooth R2.0. But I really prefer Asrock boards.

What motherboard do you have now? Here is some good info on the various motherboard options. Yes, you do need a very good motherboard for FX8xxx overclocking. 990fx most likely is what you want.

I currently own the AsRock 990FX Killer but plan to purchase the ASUS Crosshair V Formula. With my new custom loop, I aim to upgrade my 8350 to 5GHz soon xD
