Top Choice Music for Games
Gameplay alone can be enjoyable, but a great scoreboard truly enhances the experience. Reflecting on my list of beloved titles, I notice they all share a common trait: an outstanding soundtrack. Deciding which game’s music to love might be tough, yet it seems impossible for any single game to surpass my top pick... That would be... SHOGUN: Total War, launched on June 13, 2000. Created by The Creative Assembly, this title introduced a fresh approach to turn-based and real-time strategy games while showcasing the most vibrant, sophisticated scores crafted by Jeff van Dyck. Set during the Sengoku Jidai ("Warring States period" or "Age of the Country at War" 1467-1603) and featuring the Mongolian Invasion (1274-1281), Shogun: Total War lets players experience both the artistic and destructive sides of Japan’s samurai era. The Halo 3: ODST score was among the top and my personal favorite in the series.
Jeff Van Dyck impressed with the Medieval II Soundtrack edit, particularly in Kingdoms. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgnVEU2ZzTI
This soundtrack for Metal Gear Rising Revengeance is outstanding.
