Hey everyone, I've updated my query for clarity. I'm looking for a Mini-ITX board compatible with a Ryzen 9 3950x, supporting up to 64GB RAM. It should include at least two M.2 slots and sufficient headers for USB-C, headphone jack, and USB-A connections. Since M.2 headers on these boards are uncommon, I'm focusing on options that fit the typical setup I use—like Ethernet, a mouse dongle, keyboard dongle, microphone, and occasional USB drives or media storage. WiFi capability would be helpful too, especially if Ethernet isn't always available. I also want at least two SATA 6GB headers, which are usually standard. Any recommendations?
I believe the only option I can think of that could handle everything you're seeking is the ASUS Crosshair 8 Impact. It's a mini DTX board, which is a bit longer than a mini ITX but still smaller than a Micro ATX.
Sure thing. It seems simpler now. You’re likely dealing with SOL miniITX, which only has two memory slots. Without 32GB RAM sticks, it won’t work for this model. For a 3950, you’d need an x570 or b550. Some b550s have a 3.2 generation 2 header, but they usually have just one on the back. I’d recommend checking the priciest options to see if they match your needs—though it’s unlikely they will.
This board isn't compatible with mini-DX technology as stated on their site. It may not meet your requirements or suit your needs effectively. Would you like suggestions for alternatives?
It seems like this project is going to cost a lot. The B550 ITX Strix looks like a decent choice, though the B550 is generally well-regarded despite some complaints about its price. Maybe my assessment of quality is off—there should be more reviews available. It appears to fit your needs perfectly, and I don’t think another board will come close in price.
It supports a 3900x and can easily manage a 3950x. The current performance is nearly identical for both devices.
