I reside in a home built roughly a century ago with sturdy wooden construction. I'm looking for a suitable router priced near 300 dollars, ideally under 400. The distance to my current router is about 20 yards, and I need to pass through five walls. I've already considered running cables, but my family finds it unsightly and thinks professional installation would be costly.

I’m seeing several access points scattered throughout the home. Would you consider a single unified AP AC Lite? https://www.amazon.com/Ubiquiti-Unifi-Ap...B015PR20GY

Purchase flat white ethernet cables and install them along the wall's edge to keep them out of sight.

The problem lies less in the router's ability to send strong signals and more in its capacity to detect faint incoming connections. In highly constrained wireless settings, a handful of access points or a mesh network offers better performance than one powerful device.
