I completed my latest PC setup featuring a Ryzen 9 3950X CPU paired with two GPUs. I previously owned a Gainward GeForce Phoenix RTX 2070 and upgraded to the Sapphire RX 5700 XT Nitro+. After researching, I evaluated motherboards with ASRock X570 Steel Legend and ASUS Prime X570 Pro, both supporting AMD CrossfireX and Nvidia SLI. This comparison helped me decide based on your preferences. I’m particularly fond of the Steel Legend but still need guidance on VRMs, temperatures, fan noise, and other details.

the steel legend lacks sufficient voltage regulation to handle even minor overclocks on the 3950x. i’d strongly consider the asus board, which offers far better voltage regulation.

Between the two options, I’d pick the Asus models. If I had to spend heavily on a 3950x, I’d prefer a better VRM setup than the Prime Pro. Asus: X570, X570-E, Pro WS Ace Asrock: X570 Taichi, Phantom Gaming X, Creator Gigabyte: X570 Aorus Master. Also, for your 3700x I have a MOBO, and MSI offers X570 Creation, Ace, Unify, Tomahawk—top-end CPUs come with the best MOBO.

My view is that ASRock Taichi offers better compatibility compared to Aorus Ultra. The master mentioned has issues with Sapphire Radeon, causing blue screens and other problems, which makes people hesitant to try Aorus. Choosing ASRock seems like a safer option for those concerned about stability.

I own a Sapphire Nitro 5700xt paired with an Aorus Master board and haven’t faced any problems. Where did anyone hear it’s not compatible? I promise, there’s a lot of confusion about AMD products these days—it’s quite absurd. I went for the Master because, back then, it was seen as offering the best VRMs in its price range, and I appreciated what the Aorus BIOS provided in terms of capabilities and available details. To be honest, the brand isn’t crucial at this stage. Asus, Asrock, MSI, and Gigabyte all produce excellent X570 boards. Choose the one that fits your needs and looks appealing. You can always check the Motherboard Tier List posted here for reference.
