The 9400f remains functional, so just hold off for the next generation. It's said to eventually surpass Intel in gaming performance—just be patient for about six months.

Previously, I haven't tried Destiny 2, but in Modern Warfare it runs smoothly on a few cores with decent performance and much less on the others. My Modern Warfare setup is 144 hz at 1080p with high/ultra enabled, achieving about 160–170 fps.
