Top choice for gaming: a powerful laptop with sufficient RAM and a fast SSD to handle Sims 4 smoothly.
I’m considering buying a gaming laptop for playing Sims 4 and using Photoshop for editing. I already own all the DLC packs and plan to keep getting new updates. I have around 10+ GB of mods/cc—maybe a bit too much, but I’m a little addicted. I want smooth performance, especially at ultra settings, without lag or crashes. My current machine works but has slowed down over time; graphics look blurry and it gets hot, sometimes shutting down completely. I need a dedicated gaming machine for the game to stay separate from my everyday laptop, which handles browsing, Netflix, YouTube, etc.
I’m interested in the HP Omni X17 (https://store.hp.com/CanadaStore/Merch/P...BA&sel=NTB). It looks appealing, but some reviews mention poor cooling—CPU temps often reaching 90+ degrees. That’s a concern since I’m worried about overheating during Sims 4 sessions. I’d like to know if it can handle the game well without excessive heat, especially since Sims is more CPU-intensive than GPU-heavy titles.
Based on the specs, would it be able to run Sims 4 as I want? I’ve heard the game relies more on CPU power rather than graphics, so I should focus on a strong CPU rather than chasing the latest GPU. Is there any truth to keeping it cool? Are there other gaming laptops you’d recommend instead of the one I mentioned? I’m open to brands other than Alienware and haven’t heard great things about Dell so far.
Does anyone else currently use a gaming laptop and play Sims 4 without overheating issues? Thanks ahead of time!
