The most recent BIOS version is excellent. I requested the salesperson to update it to the latest release (v1A), which resolved the CPU error during boot, though it still fails on startup. After a few attempts, it finally started properly. There are no further problems now. The only changes I made were to enable virtualization and A-XMP. I saw some scary posts at r/msi_gaming and was considering giving up, but a new beta BIOS came out recently—still not worth the effort. This board isn’t suitable for beginners building PCs.

just make sure you have a way to flash the bios. That board does not have bios flashback (i.e., the ability to flash bios with usb flash drive without a cpu, ram installed)

MSI Pro Carbon AC is one of the top options for the B450. If you're looking for a budget-friendly choice, availability might vary by location, but the B450 M2 version offers great performance at a lower price.
