Hello, I am planning to purchase a CPU cooler for my 4690k (for mild overclocking). My motherboard is an MSI Z97 Pcmate, and the case is a Circle CC830. The specs indicate it supports a 170mm CPU cooler height, which led me to choose the CM Hyper 212x. However, I came across some YouTube comments where someone bought a cooler and found it didn’t fit after installation on the side panel. So, I was uncertain and decided to measure myself. It looks like I can install a cooler up to about 150mm in height. Now I am considering these options:

1. CM Hyper TX3 Evo
2. CM Hyper 103
3. Deepcool Ice Edge 400xt
4. Deepcool Gamaxx S40

All of these are available in India except the TX3 Evo at the moment. Could you help me choose the best one for cooling without water cooling? Thanks.

check out some budget-friendly coolers next, such as the Coolermaster GeminII Series. I also use a Vortex Plus with the 4670 and it works well? Check their site for more info: http://www.coolermaster.com/product/Line...ir-cooler/

What a great question! How does Vortex Plus stack up against the others you mentioned? Which one do you think performs better? Thanks for asking.

I'm not sure, I had it before from other builds and just passed it on or reused what I already had. I haven't had any heat problems with it so far and I didn't overclock. Could be luck or maybe it's working well?
Check out a site called Frosty Tech for more detailed tests.

The deepcool gamaxx s40 offers a favorable installation experience. The frostytech platform provides a resource for comparing various coolers.

Thanks for the feedback. After checking the frostytech website, I found that the TX3 Evo and Gamax X40 are solid options. I liked the CM Gemini but it's quite expensive here. I was also considering the Hyper T4, though I might have missed it. Would you recommend the T4 instead of the TX3? Thanks for your help!

I believe much depends on correct mounting. A weak paste application, incorrect installation, or uneven paste can greatly affect cooling performance. These factors often determine whether the system cools adequately or not. You can observe this clearly among enthusiasts using high-end setups—chips still overheat or temperatures remain higher than expected.
Check the discussions here: [link 1] and [link 2].

Good luck with your build!
