I accidentally purchased the gigabyte b450m ds3h, but fortunately I can now acquire another motherboard. What I require from a board includes heatsinks, Ryzen 5 2600 supports, ample VRMs, Wi-Fi connectivity, at least one fan and an ARGB header (I received a hub), capability for 32GB 3200MHz RAM, and ARGB support. This is due to having ARGB fans, needing Wi-Fi occasionally, and planning to use this board for a year or longer before upgrading. My budget for this component ranges from $100 to $140, roughly $70 to $100 USD. I intend to focus on gaming, video editing, and possibly coding and 3D modeling with tools like Unity, Blender, etc. If I receive assistance with this, I hope it helps others facing similar challenges. (P.S. Sorry if my explanation feels a bit simplistic—I’m still getting familiar with parts and forums.) My specs are: Ryzen 5 2600 GTX 1660 Super OC Corsair Vengeance LX 2x8 16GB 3200MHz CL16 WD Black SN750 M.2 NVMe 1TB Corsair CX650M 80+ Bronze 6 x MF120 RGB fans Deepcool MATREXX 55 mesh.
The issue with your B450m DS3H is unclear—check for errors or consider if it needs updating. If it's working fine, don't make changes.
It's not a major issue, but I'm concerned about its performance with my system. It lacks heatsinks, has low-quality voltage regulators, and I'm considering a motherboard with Wi-Fi—though routing the Ethernet cable might be time-consuming. People have told me to use it as-is, return it for a better one, or keep using it. For programs like Unity and Blender, plus gaming, do I really need heatsinks? I already have six fans, a CPU fan, and mesh cases on the front and top—I just want to be sure it will hold up.
If you’re not pushing the CPU beyond its limits, your current setup should work well. This Ryzen 5 model has a 65W power delivery unit.
Also mentioned that. With the fans and airflow setup (mesh case plus ATX case with M.2 motherboard), I should be okay without a CPU cooler. The VRM performance seems decent for the Gigabyte GTX 1660 Super OC dual fans. I’ll only upgrade my RAM, not the other components.
Sure, happy to help. A new main character wouldn't really change performance much, especially since this is your first build. Got any more questions?
